Rustic Abruzzese Maremmano puppy

Gran Sasso is a Maremma Sheepdog puppy, born to the mare Beatrice and the breeder Bill. He is part of a litter dedicated to the most iconic places in Abruzzo, the Maremma Sheepdog's homeland and the cradle of a centuries-old tradition of breeding and herding. His name pays homage to the Gran Sasso Massif, an undisputed symbol of the region and the mountains where this extraordinary breed has accompanied flocks and shepherds for centuries.

From the earliest days of his life, Gran Sasso grew up in close contact with the farm's chicken coop, following the example of his mother Beatrice, a female who has always devoted herself to protecting the chickens from predators. This environment represents an important learning opportunity: although he is still too young to be able to express an opinion on his future as a poultry guard dog, it is safe to say that he has received an extremely favorable imprinting. Growing up observing their mother at work is in fact one of the first steps in the development of the typical behavior of guard dogs.
